We have been invited to attend the Cubes in Space™ - RocketFest 2019 Student Exhibit Expo program at the Chincoteague Community Center. Cubes in Space™ is a free educational program for students 11-18 years of age to design and compete to launch an experiment in a 40 mm cube into space. Selected student-designed payload cubes will be launched via a sounding rocket from Wallops Flight Facility or from a high-altitude scientific balloon from NASA's Columbia Scientific Balloon Facility. This year nearly 150 students are exhibiting their experiments between 10 AM - 1:30 PM. Please feel free to attend on your own prior to the luncheon.
NASA Wallops Flight Facility has offered to take us on a tour of Wallops' new Mission Operations Control Center. The bus will leave at from the Marine Science Consortium to take this tour and return us in time for the start of the lunch program.
After your visit to the expo and/or taking the tour, attend the luncheon to hear from: Students from St. Mary's Catholic School in Richmond along with their teacher, Peter Tlusty, present their Cubes in Space experiment.
Followed By: Dave Pierce, Wallops Director, who will give an overview of activities and new business at the facility.
